Psychotyp — Psychological personality typing: the 16 | psychotyp.com
All sixteen four-letter codes, what each letter contributes, and how the codes sort into Kiersey's four temperament groups of four.
The sixteen codes are: ISTJ, ISFJ, INFJ, INTJ, ISTP, ISFP, INFP, INTP, ESTP, ESFP, ENFP, ENTP, ESTJ, ESFJ, ENFJ and ENTJ. Each is built from the same four scales in fixed order — E/I, S/N, T/F, J/P — so once you know the scales you can parse any code at sight.
The arithmetic keeps the set tidy. Because the codes come from 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 combinations, every single letter appears in exactly 8 of the 16 types, and every type shares three of its four letters with exactly one other type. If a test places you between two letters, that neighbour is the only comparison you need.
On narrow screens, swipe or scroll the plate sideways.
Kiersey's temperaments group the sixteen into four families of four. The SJ Guardians run on concrete facts and settled structure; the SP Artisans on concrete facts and improvisation; the NF Idealists decide through values; the NT Rationals decide through analysis.
Temperament is a coarse grid, not a verdict. Two types in the same group can still run different function stacks — the four-position engine of dominant, auxiliary, tertiary and inferior described on the cognitive functions page — so treat the group as orientation and the stack as the fine print.
If you arrived here without a code, the find-your-type page walks through the five-pass scoring procedure: a 93-item sitting of about 15 minutes, four clarity scores from 0 to 100%, and a retest 2–4 weeks later for any letter that lands near the middle.
